Sitka Gold: First drill hole 2025 shows 130 instances of visible gold!

In 2024, Sitka Gold (WKN A2JG70 / TSXV SIG) intersected a massive 678.1 metres averaging 1.04 grammes of gold per tonne in hole 68 at the Blackjack gold deposit, 93 metres of which even returned 2.57 grammes of gold per tonne! With the first drill hole of the 30,000-metre drill programme in 2025 (DDRCCC-25-075), Sitka wanted to test both the vertical and horizontal extent of this high-grade mineralisation – and now reports that no less than 130 instances of visible gold were observed in the drill cores obtained!

This hole, 715.97 metres long, is one of the longest holes Sitka has drilled at Blackjack to date. After an initial review of the drill core, geologists are now convinced that strong gold mineralisation extends at least 70 metres to the northeast from hole 68. As Sitka’s CEO Cor Coe explains, the increasing grades from hole 68 at depth already indicated that the drilling was vectoring in on the source of the impressive gold system.

Even underground mining is conceivable

Sitka’s CEO hopes that the results of drill hole 75 will, among other things, provide a better understanding of the dimensions of the Blackjack mineralisation zone at depth. According to the company, higher gold grades there could potentially even make underground mining possible below the limits of the previously delineated resource and its pit.

Sitka recently reported a pit constrained resource of 1.291 million ounces of gold averaging 1.01 g/t gold in the indicated category and 1.044 million ounces of gold at 0.94 g/t gold in the inferred category for Blackjack. With the next drill hole of this year’s program (DDRCCC-25-076), the company intends to test the Blackjack zone to even greater depths. This will involve drilling from the same location as hole 75 but at a steeper angle.
